I’ve been slacking on the blogging but it is time to get back into it. And what better way to do that than with a new spin on things. I’ve recently asked my 2018 couples to fill out a little questionnaire about their love story after we do their engagement photos. I am always moved and amazed when I hear about how two people met and fell in love – whether it be a random chance encounter, a middle school cafeteria, online, or a mutual acquaintance. A hopeless romantic, I can get behind any tale that leads to two people choosing to be together forever.
Shane and Dina were perfect for kicking off this grand idea of mine. When we met at Hartwood Acres and they took me to this awesome area I never knew existed, I was immediately taken by their affection toward one another. If I didn’t know better I would have thought their love was new or they’d just started dating… and the story of Shane’s well thought out proposal left me with chills.
How did you first meet?
We first met in high school through a club where we would tutor middle school students.
Did you “click” right away?
We immediately got along and became close friends. We had an instant attraction and soon became a couple.
How long did you date before you got engaged?
We have been dating 8 years.
Was the proposal a surprise?
How did it happen?
We went out to dinner in North Park and afterwards went for a walk around the park. Shane took Dina to the place where he had originally asked her 8 years prior to be his girlfriend and proposed. Shane had a photographer waiting at the spot to capture the moment. After Shane proposed and Dina said yes, he took her back home where an engagement party was waiting with all of their friends and family.
What are you most excited about your big day?
Dina: Marrying the man of my dreams and my best friend while celebrating our love with our friends and family.
Shane: Seeing my best friend walk down the aisle and finally becoming my wife.
We had some spectators for the shoot. These guys looked on while they snacked on grass and acorns. Even the wildlife found Shane and Dina’s love worth admiring. <3
