John and Christi got married at their river house.  I had never shot a wedding at a river house (lake house, beach house, mountain cabin, yes yes yes but never a home on a river).  As soon as they mentioned the wedding location I was hooked.  It didn’t hurt that they also sounded like an amazing couple!

After their engagement session, I was literally counting down the days to their wedding and it did not disappoint, at all.  John and Christi got ready together up until the last details so they could do a first look of Christi in her INCREDIBLE gown.  Along with help from John’s 2 kids, and their extended families, not a detail was forgotten.  It was one of the most beautiful, laid back yet glam, weddings I have ever photographed.

John and Christi met while playing cornhole so of course they had cornhole. So at the reception, with her dress tied in a big ol’ knot, Christi showed off her insane cornhole skills.  (Like seriously – someone find this woman a pro team to join.)

Wedding on the river with all your friends and family – 10/10 Highly Recommend

I can’t leave without telling you about my favorite part of the wedding.  John and Christi had this EPIC first dance where they recreated the final dance from Dirty Dancing.  Totally perfect.  But the moments that followed where everyone on the dance floor attempted that final flying lift was absolutely hilarious and made the whole reception exceptionally fun to document!

I loved every second getting to know the Renno / Steffen families.  I could go on for days about how adorable John’s grandma is and what kind people Christi’s mom and sisters are but my guess is anyone who has read to this point probably knows that these two families are made up of exceptional humans with huge hearts.
I couldn’t be happier for you, John and Christi and I am so thankful to have gotten to be a part of your amazing wedding day!
